Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently welcomed Joseph Holt, of Chestertown, MD, and Dale Kerns, of Rising Sun, MD, to its Board of Directors.
Joseph Holt worked at Washington College where he spent 30+ years being promoted to positions of increased responsibility. His last position was the Executive Director of Institutional Giving and Stewardship. His other experience includes, working at Chesapeake College, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, The White House, and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, a master’s degree in history, and a Harvard Graduate School of Education Institute for Educational Management Certificate. He is an active member of his community, receiving various awards and serving in many volunteer roles, including Sacred Heart Church, The Shelter Alliance, and Kent County Board of Elections.
“I have long admired the mission of Easterseals, and I look forward to doing my part to extend and strengthen their work,” Holt said.
Dale Kerns is a Rotary District Governor of District 7630, which includes the state of Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore. In her role, Kerns will represent a valued partner of Easterseals Delaware & Maryland's Eastern Shore. District 7630 regularly provides financial support as well as hands-on action to improve Camp Fairlee and various Easterseals programs. Kerns has served in various roles in the Rotary District and often uses her skills as an educator and school counselor with various non-profits that she volunteers with in Cecil County, where she and her husband, Dr. Tim Kerns, live. During her year of service to the Rotary District, she plans to work to bring more awareness of the programs and projects Easterseals offers in the region to the nearly 1,400 Rotary members in District 7630.
"Having worked with a wide variety of students in my 33 years as an educator and counselor, I have witnessed firsthand the impact that Easterseals programs offer children, adolescents, and families. The work of Rotarians in Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore with programs like Camp Fairlee as well as learning and community involvement provided by Easterseals allows us to continue Rotary's mission of being ‘People of Action’. I look forward to continuing this valuable relationship," Kerns said.
