After leaving her job to care for her mother following a stroke and dementia diagnosis, Denise Anthony found crucial support through the Together We Care respite program at Canaan Baptist Church, which provides social engagement for participants and much-needed relief for caregivers.

Canaan Baptist Church, in partnership with Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore and Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities, will host an Open House on February 19, 2026, for its new Together We Care Respite Ministry, a program providing social engagement and supportive activities for adults with Alzheimer’s/dementia while offering caregivers regular opportunities for respite and support.

Easterseals Camp Fairlee has secured $500,000 in state funding through the advocacy of the Maryland District 36 delegation to expand its dining hall, improving accessibility, reducing overcrowding, and creating a more sensory-friendly environment for children and adults with disabilities.
