Canaan Baptist Church, in partnership with Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore and the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD), is proud to announce an upcoming Open House for the new Together We Care Respite Ministry, a community program designed to support adults with Alzheimer’s/dementia who benefit from social engagement and provide much-needed relief for caregivers.
The Open House will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Canaan Baptist Church (3011 New Castle Avenue, New Castle, DE). The community is encouraged to attend to learn more about the program.
Beginning March 10 and continuing on the second and fourth Tuesdays each month, the Together We Care Respite Ministry will offer a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where participants can enjoy meaningful activities while caregivers receive the invaluable gift of time to rest and recharge.
Caregivers who need a break are encouraged to register their loved one with Alzheimer’s/dementia for this program, where they can enjoy social engagement, structured activities, and a caring, supportive environment. The mission of Together We Care Respite Ministry is to provide fellowship, stimulation, and support because everyone deserves joy and rest.
