Verna Wilkins Hensley

Verna W. Hensley has served as Vice President of Public Affairs for over 20 years.  Before joining Easterseals, Verna spent over two decades working for the late U.S. Senator Bill Roth of Delaware. With a deep commitment to advocating for the rights of people with disabilities, Verna also leads Easterseals' Communications and Marketing team at Easterseals. She serves as the past president of the Ability Network of Delaware board.  She works with the National Easterseals Advocacy Workgroup on federal issues and is a member of the Delaware Vulnerable Populations Commission. Additionally, Verna is a past President of the Board of the Parent Information Center, an organization supporting families of children with disabilities. Verna is proud to work alongside her daughter, Jules, who has an intellectual disability, advocating for disability rights. She is also the proud mother of her son, Ryan.
