Senator Carper Visits Easterseals to Discuss Disability Issues with Participants
Bill Mosley, of Hartly, DE, is blind, has a hearing impairment, and is an amazing advocate! With the help of Easterseals Direct Support Professionals, he learned how to write the alphabet so he could write a letter to his elected officials about issues important to him and other people with disabilities. Senator Tom Carper was so impressed that he stopped into Easterseals Dover adult day program last week to meet Bill and discuss the issues. With the support of his direct care staff and his sister, Bonnie, Bill is creating important awareness about disability issues. -
Quick Thinking Staff Saves a Life!
Three fast-thinking staff members have been recognized by the Easterseals’ Region-wide Health and Safety Committee for their heroic action, which contributed to saving the life of one of our participants in our New Castle center. -
Nickle Electrical Make Un-FORE-gettable Improvements at Easterseals
Participants from the adult day programs at Easterseals in Georgetown will be able to enjoy their time on the green thanks to volunteers from Nickle Electrical Companies who recently brought the mini golf course “up to par” by rebuilding, expanding and painting the course. -

Although Easterseals adult day programs reopened in the fall, many of the participants have not been able to return due to health factors. Easterseals Receives Investment from DuPont for Supported Employment Program
Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently received a grant from DuPont to support its Supported Employment program – a program that opens the door to meaningful work and competitive wages in the community for adults with intellectual disabilities, while providing employers with dedicated, productive employees. Each year, Easterseals partners with over 60 businesses around Delaware to recruit and train individuals with disabilities for their workplace. -

from the Welfare Foundation to offer children under the age of three with autism Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy. Easterseals was awarded this grant in the Welfare Foundation’s last grant cycle. -

Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently received a grant for $1200 from Kent County Fund for the Arts, a fund of the CenDel Foundation to support their Artfulness program. This program brings art to the people with disabilities who attend the Easterseals adult day program in Kent County, Delaware. -
Easterseals Receives Grant from Capital One
Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently received a grant from Capital One to continue to support a financial empowerment program that benefits participants in Easterseals day programs for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. The program is hosted virtually so all program participants and Capital One employee volunteers, who host the program, are able to participate in this interactive and fun class that supports the fundamentals of financial empowerment. -
Easterseals Receives Grant from Donnie Williams Foundation
Recently, Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore received a $30,000 grant from the Donnie Williams Foundation to support their Children’s Therapy services in Salisbury, MD. The grant, which will be used to hire additional therapists, will help meet the overwhelming needs of children and families who are already receiving services as well as offer services to those waiting on the expansive waitlist. -
