    Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently welcomed Dr. Charmaine Wright, MD, of Media, PA, to its Board of Directors. As the Medical Director of the Center for Special Health Care Needs at Christiana Care Health Services, Dr. Wright oversees the department which is dedicated to providing primary and specialty care for adults with complex medical and social conditions such as those served by Easterseals.

    Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore announced that it has received a grant from Bank of America for its programs and services that benefit people with disabilities, seniors, veterans and their families.
  • Easterseals Receives Grant from Capital One

    Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently received a grant from Capital One to continue to support a financial empowerment program that benefits participants in Easterseals day programs for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. The program is hosted virtually so all program participants and Capital One employee volunteers, who host the program, are able to participate in this interactive and fun class that supports the fundamentals of financial empowerment.

    Easterseals Receives Grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation

    Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently received a highly sought-after $30,000 Quality of Life grant from The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. Easterseals was one of only 17 grantees nationwide awarded funds from this foundation this year. The grant money will be used to install cameras within the Easterseals Resource Center to allow virtual tours for consumers with disabilities, including paralysis, and their caregivers.

    Easterseals Expands Services for Seniors in Smyrna

    The recent ribbon-cutting for the new Easterseals day program in Smyrna brought together many families and local and state officials in support of the services being offered there for seniors and adults with physical disabilities.

    Easterseals Celebrates National Family Caregiver Month

    There are a lot of heroes that have helped America get through the COVID-19 pandemic. Hospital staff, first responders and so many more whose acts have made a difference in so many lives. However, there are a number of other heroes who do not wear capes, who do not have notoriety, and who also make a huge difference in their loved one’s life. These are unpaid family caregivers. At Easterseals, they are our heroes!

    Easterseals Awarded Highmark BluePrints for the Community Grant

    Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore announced that it has received a Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware BluePrints for the Community grant to support their Memory Care and Adult Day Health Services. This funding will allow Easterseals to meet the current challenges of rising expenses to provide these much-needed services while continuing to expand the number of people served with memory and cognitive challenges in their existing Adult Day Health Program.
