The Easterseals Annual Celebration is one of the year's most vital fundraisers.

Runners and Walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate and support life-changing solutions for people with disabilities in our community.

Easterseals hosts the only conference in Delaware focused on family caregivers.

It is hard to find a group of people who bring dedication and a hard-working attitude but also smiles with them. The CHEER Center, which serves seniors in the Sussex County Region, found that in a group of volunteers from Easterseals Pre-Vocational Services. Participants at Easterseals love volunteering in the community, and thanks to this partnership, they are able to do just that while learning valuable work
skills.

When you are a caregiver, it is important to take breaks and thankfully Hands of Hope offers respite to caregivers, like Rachel, and her mom, Sharon.

Recently, Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore received a donation of “Swim Fins” designed by the “LUNATECS,” a team of students from the South Jersey Robotics' Adaptive Device Program. These adaptive tools attach to swimmers' arms to help propel campers with limited mobility so they can enjoy the pool at Easterseals Camp Fairlee.

John Suggs is counting down the days until his 12-day adventure at Easterseals Camp Fairlee, and it is not hard to see why. For John, who is visually impaired and has Cerebral Palsy, camp means independence, new experiences, and friendship. For his parents, Lisa Dornell and Robert Suggs, it means a break from caregiving.

Easterseals Delaware & Maryland's Eastern Shore is delighted to announce that Steve "Stevie" Tull, of Seaford, DE, will serve as this year's ambassador for their annual "Walk With Me & 5K Run Delmarva" event. It will be held at 3:30 pm on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Baywood Greens, 32267 Clubhouse Way, Long Neck, DE.

When two-year-old Penelope “Penny” Pratz, of Wilmington, DE, started receiving Easterseals Children’s Therapy services, she was unable to stand on her own or walk. Her parents, Alexandra and Scott, were worried she may never walk, but they put their trust in Easterseals, and that made all the difference.

Brian Perry, of Frederica, DE, is a world traveler, recently returning from Germany where he competed in the Special Olympics World Games as a swimming champion representing the United States. Meanwhile at home, his team at the café at Delaware State University, where he has worked for the last ten years through Easterseals’ Supported Employment program, was cheering him on.

Recognized for its long-standing dedication to fostering an inclusive workforce for people with disabilities, Bank of America will be presented with the inaugural Easterseals Disability Community Impact Award at the 2024 Easterseals Annual Celebration on Tuesday, October 29th, at the Chase Center in Wilmington, DE. Easterseals is a leading provider of services for children and adults with disabilities and their families in the region.

In an instant, Mike and Virginia Minor’s lives changed forever. One minute they were enjoying time with family and, in what felt like the next minute, Virginia was in the hospital. She had experienced a stroke and then cardiac arrest. Gone was their old lifestyle. Mike was suddenly thrust into the role of caregiving, which can be very overwhelming and lonely. Thankfully, he found a group of people walking the same path with an Easterseals Caregiver Support group.
