Veterans & Military Families
Easterseals doors are open—we’re here to help military families. We’ve been supporting military service members, veterans, their families, and families of the fallen since World War II.
Overview
Our Programs
Personal Attendant Services (PAS)
For adults with physical disabilities, including veterans, the Personal Attendant Services program (PAS) allows people with disabilities to maintain independent lifestyles, live in the community, and make choices concerning their personal assistant needs. Individuals who take part in the Personal Attendant Services Program choose and hire their own Personal Attendant and work with them based on their individual needs.
Services for Caregivers
You are a caregiver if you provide social or physical support to an aging relative or friend, or to a person who is disabled. If so, you are a caregiver...and there are many services and supports available to you and the person for whom you are caring.
The Mia Shorteno Fraser Scholarship Fund - For Campers of Veterans/Active Military Families
Full or partial funding is available for a limited number of campers whose family members are serving – or have served - in the US armed forces and would like to attend summer or respite sessions at Camp Fairlee.
This scholarship honors the life and work of Mia Shorteno Fraser, Psy. D. who dedicated her career to the practice of clinical psychology, and in particular, the issues facing veterans, active military, their families, and caregivers. Mia was brilliant, hardworking, and determined, demonstrating incredible grit in the face of adversity.
Mia’s family has established this scholarship to fulfill her dream of supporting those who have served our country. This scholarship is available to help them, their families, and caregivers, who face the additional challenges of caring for loved ones with a range of disabilities.
Please complete this form to apply for a scholarship and return it with proof of military status, a copy of last year’s tax return, your essay question answer, and your Camp Fairlee registration form. This confidential application will only be reviewed by the Camp Director for the purpose of determining eligibility. No other camp participant, counselor or volunteer will be aware of this application or subsequent award of scholarship, if any. There are limited scholarships available.
