Our Programs

Facility-Based Programs

These programs offer educational, pre-vocational, social, community, and volunteer activities with close supervision, and personal care services as needed. Computers with specialized adaptations are available for participant use and instruction at each location. Community outings are a standard part of each program. Easterseals facilities offer a warm and inviting atmosphere with comfortable surroundings.

  • Services for Seniors with Physical Disabilities

Adult Day Health Services addresses the medical and social needs of individuals who experience the effects of aging and/or the impact of a physical disability. Easterseals provides choices when a loved one needs assistance with daily living, and does not prefer full-time nursing home care. Easterseals Adult Day Health Services partners with families to ensure a continuation of their high standards of care and benefits both participants and their caregivers.

  • Services for Seniors with Intellectual Disabilities

Easterseals offers day programs for older adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism. Services are provided in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties in Delaware. Delaware's Division of Developmental Disabilities Services sponsors virtually all-day program participants. A few individuals receive services through private fee arrangements. Easterseals facilities offer a warm and inviting atmosphere with comfortable surroundings.

  • Memory Care Services

Caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia is increasingly challenging, and Delaware is expanding adult daycare services to meet growing demand. Easterseals is enhancing its centers with specialized memory care programs, offering safe, supportive care for patients and much-needed respite for caregivers.

Community-Based Programs

Easterseals’ community-based supports help seniors and individuals with disabilities live independently through services like personal attendant care, caregiver education, respite, and access to assistive technology. These programs connect families to resources, provide hands-on support, and offer relief for caregivers while promoting safety, independence, and quality of life at home and in the community.

  • Personal Attendant Services

For adults with physical disabilities, the Personal Attendant Services program (PAS) allows people with disabilities to maintain independent lifestyles, live in the community, and make choices concerning their personal assistant needs. Individuals who take part in the Personal Attendant Services Program choose and hire their own Personal Attendant and work with them based on their individual needs.

  • Respite

Are you handling your aging mother's bills? Do you take your grandfather to the grocery store once a week? Do you take time off work to drive your aunt to her doctor's appointments? If so, you are a caregiver...and there are many services and supports available to you and the person for whom you are caring.

  • Caregiver Support Services

Our Community Outreach Program offers disability-related education and resources to connect consumers, caregivers, and professionals to the information they need. Our Resource and Technology Demonstration Center provides opportunities for "hands-on" trials of assistive technology equipment.

  • Assistive Technology

Assistive technology services at Easterseals help individuals with disabilities live more independently by providing personalized evaluations, hands-on demonstrations, and access to tools that support mobility, communication, and daily living. The program also guides families in selecting and financing the right equipment while offering expert support to ensure safety, comfort, and improved quality of life.

    For Noah, camp changed everything.

Noah, a nonverbal 16-year-old who previously lacked stable support, was able to experience care, safety, and simple joys at Camp Fairlee thanks to a scholarship, highlighting how donor support, now doubled by a matching gift, can make life-changing camp experiences accessible to more children with disabilities.

    Stevie Soars with Easterseals

Stevie has been bringing smiles to the faces of staff and fellow participants at his Easterseals Adult Day program in Georgetown since 2007. The program not only gives him the opportunity to socialize with his peers and remain a part of his community but also gives his parents a much-needed break from full-time caregiving.
