Pediatric Personal Attendant Services

For children with physical disabilities, the Pediatric Personal Attendant Services program (PPAS) allows children with disabilities to maintain independent lifestyles, live in the community, and make choices concerning their personal assistant needs. Individuals with disabilities taking part in the Pediatric Personal Attendant Services Program choose and hire their own Personal Attendant and work with them based on their individual needs. You become the employer.

Easterseals provides support for parents and caregivers/legal guardians who choose to direct personal care on behalf of eligible children. Parents and caregivers/legal guardians recruit, select, hire, and manage personal care Attendants on behalf of their children. Ongoing, as well as respite care services are provided to those who qualify. Eligibility is determined through the child’s Medicaid program.
