    Adami Fund for Innovation Focuses on Enhanced Accessibility

    Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore has announced the sixth annual “Bill Adami Fund for Innovation” award will be used to fund two projects initiated by Easterseals staff to improve accessibility within the organization. The Bill Adami Fund for Innovation was created in memory of Easterseals late President/CEO, William J. Adami, who passed away in 2013.

    Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore has announced that the fifth annual “Bill Adami Fund for Innovation” award will be used to pilot a “It’s Never 2 Late” Technology System” for the adult day program at Easterseals in Georgetown. This technology is expected to be especially beneficial for Easterseals participants with dementia because the content is designed by experts and can be individualized for each person to help reduce anxiety, engage their focus, and stimulate their memories.

    Easterseals Virtual Programming Keeps Participants Connected

    There is nothing better than being in a room full of friends and familiar faces – even if it is a virtual room. Although Easterseals adult day programs reopened in the fall, many of the participants have not been able to return due to health factors. However, Easterseals Direct Support Professionals have not let that stop them from connecting through virtual platforms with participants like Toni Parago.
  • Easterseals Receives Grant from Capital One

    Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently received a grant from Capital One to continue to support a financial empowerment program that benefits participants in Easterseals day programs for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. The program is hosted virtually so all program participants and Capital One employee volunteers, who host the program, are able to participate in this interactive and fun class that supports the fundamentals of financial empowerment.

    Easterseals Receives Grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation

    Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recently received a highly sought-after $30,000 Quality of Life grant from The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. Easterseals was one of only 17 grantees nationwide awarded funds from this foundation this year. The grant money will be used to install cameras within the Easterseals Resource Center to allow virtual tours for consumers with disabilities, including paralysis, and their caregivers.
