When her twin sister passed away, Sylvia Davis felt lost and lonely. The pair were very active sharing their gift of music with their community and it was a tough adjustment. Her younger sister, Deborah Cooke, recognized Sylvia’s need to remain active in the community and found Easterseals Adult Day Health Services. Not only does the program keep Sylvia engaged and social, but it provides Deborah with a much-needed break from caregiving. -
Easterseals Camp Fairlee Makes Campers Feel Like Family
Each camper that attends Easterseals Camp Fairlee becomes a part of the Fairlee family, but some members have been a part of the family for a lot longer. Jamal, who has Cerebral Palsy and uses a wheelchair, looks forward to coming to camp each year and has been coming for 26 years. Starting at the age of 6, Jamal has made his mark on the camp well into his adulthood and enjoys every minute of his experience. -

Emory's Caregiver Story
Emory and Otisia “Tish” did not know in 1982 when they said those words “in sickness and in health” that sickness would come sooner than they thought. Though caregiving for Tish, who had her first stroke at 45, has not come without trials, it is Emory’s great attitude, support from family, and a team of caring professionals at an Easterseals Adult Day program, that has really made a huge impact in how they continue to live their lives.
